We have just ordered a load of Danfoss RAS 1/2"BSP angled TRV's for a School refurb, the tail has a 3/4" union and the inlet comes with an olive and male threaded union which converts the valve to use 15mm copper. Do not confuse these valves with the Domestic type TRV made by Danfoss.

Anyway, you can't really just change the head (that you've removed by undoing the allen screw) - a replacement TRV will be THE WHOLE THING which will involve draining down the system. DrNo2021. Oct 25, 2021. #1. Hi guys, my head valves of my radiators have broken teeth and need replacing. The diameter size is about 25/26 mm. The old ones are Danfoss BS6284 which are discontinued. I am aware that I could change the whole TVR cheaper but I just want to buy the heads please.

28°C. TRV 2 Way valve heads made between 1997 and 2012 had a symbol like the greek letter PI. This head, with the EN215 keymark symbol is a direct replacement. The metal lock ring has a M30 / 30mm x 1.5mm metric thread. Myson has used this thread for a long time, though very old (pre 1997) Myson valves used a smaller 28mm x 1.5mm thread.

Most modern valves have a compression connection. 2. The connection between the valve and the pipework to the rest of the system is a compression connection, and looks like 15mm.

But it seems you can buy the whole valve with head for a similar price. Should I just replace all the valves? They must be over 20 years old.

To replace the head look inside the head at the hole the TRV body goes into, you will see one or maybe two metal tangs. set the head to 5 and hold the head in one hand and rotate the serrated bit again, hopefully both tangs should disappear with a satisfying click. If they do simply push the head back on, if they don't.
